Whale Shark Characteristics

Have you already noticed a very distinct feature of this shark? Whale Sharks are covered in its own unique pattern of white spots which allow each individual shark to be identified. A whale Shark can be as long as school bus and weigh up to 25 tons. But in the water they glide calmly and almost effortlessly.

The whale Shark is a filter feeder and in order to eat, it just opens its huge sized jaw and passively filters everything in its path while swimming close to the water’s surface. Its favorite meal is plankton - so don’t worry that you will be need mistaken for food when diving along them. Be gentle and humble in their presence and maybe they will allow you to interact with them.
